Recently I purchased an Akai MPK61 for my music workstation and feeling a bit unsatisfied or un-fulfilled for lack of better terms that I can think of. Maybe because I have yet to realize the full potential it endows me or just frustrated that I haven’t been able to find any “leaps and bounds” of improvement with my music making with this tool. And, it’s hard to swallow the fact I purchased it for roughly $550. There’s a part of me that wants to return it and another that tells me I should stick with it. But I guess I still have about 20 days to decide. What it really boils down to I guess is finding the right “sounds” and finding inspiration because I could have the fanciest equipment but without any drive or creative thinking, it’s all really useless.
